If you’ve been following me for some time now, then you already know my incredibly great love for LAYERS. Not only are layers practical (especially for those of us living in the Midwest), but they truly have the ability to transform a look. One of my newest style loves includes the athleisure trend. With the help of Reebok and it’s “Perfect Never” campaign, I’ve been exploring new style trends that really allow me to delve into the depths of my style personality a bit more. Without a doubt, athleisure has been one of them.
At its very core, athleisure is about being comfortable and casual. For someone who often prides themselves on being perfectly put together, the athleisure trend proves that you can do just that in a much more effortless manner! Rather than spending oodles of time in your closet attempting to put together the most perfect casual look, you can grab a great pair of workout clothes and accessorize it accordingly to make a statement. With athleisure, one of the easiest ways to make a statement is to LAYER with a great jacket. Layering with either a jacket, sweater or even a scarf elevates and polishes the overall tone of an athleisure inspired look.
When is comes to layering, I most definitely love a good jacket. Two jacket styles that have been huge for me lately have been the parka and the bombe (ironically both are in the olive green shade). Torn by how exactly I wanted to finish off this look, I opted for the bomber jacket instead, as I felt the shape better complimented the overall aesthetic I was aiming to achieve. To prove to you how much of an impact layers can have on a look, I’ve included images with the jacket both on and off. If you ask me, I most definitely think “the jacket on” gives this athleisure look a much more refined vibe. However, it’s still a great outfit without the jacket. I love the idea of multifunctional styling and I think that’s exactly what layers enable you to do. You can layer accordingly and eliminate 500 wardrobe changes in one day!
