Get The Look Thursdays: Vintage Fur

Friday, January 31st, 2014

I must admit…I’m loving the fur trend and I hope that it NEVER fades away. I feel like we are living in olden days when it was considered “normal” for a woman to regularly wear fur. I would give anything (well, not just anything…lol) to experience the fashion of that era.  Just imagine…walking into Bergdorf Goodman’s on 5th Ave in the 1950s to purchase a lush piece of fur, a bottle of Chanel perfume and a pair of black stilettos by Roger Vivier. Oh, the splendor.  Now that I’m done daydreaming, let’s get back to this wanderlust Get The Look Thursday…say hello Vintage Fur, my absolute most favorite #GTLT to date with imagery by Kimberly J. Photography!

Get The Look Thursdays: Bold Lips & the Drew Berrymore Sweater

Thursday, November 7th, 2013

Sooooo just in case you guys have not noticed, my most favorite fall pieces are the Live a Little military jacket and my Express cheetah print infinity scarf that I have featured a couple of times on Get The Look Thursdays! Not a week goes by were I DO NOT wear these two pieces at least twice…I just love them!  But because I wear these pieces pretty often, I am always looking for new ways to style them…that way they look completely different than the last time, which can be tricky. Especially when I am going on day #67 of “NO PERSONAL SHOPPING!” Anywho, I have given myself a new challenge….learning how to make the most of my closet with what I have! Sounds a lot easier said than done, right? However, in actuality, it really is quite easy. It simply takes a bit more creativity on my end.

Get The Look Thursdays: Casually Sophisticated

Thursday, October 10th, 2013

I’m that girl who happens to have a “love hate relationship” with graphic tees.  They are fun and cute, but there is ALWAYS  a BIG FAT BUT for me…LOL. I always buy them and end up giving them away during my annual closet purge.  However, there is one that I just cannot seem to part with…I purchased it maybe 5 years ago while at a major blowout sale at Burlington Coat Factory with my mom during the Christmas holiday.  Well, this $7 Breakfast at Tiffany’s graphic tee has seen the light of day maybe 4 or 5 times since I purchased it.  So, just the other day while attempting to organize my t-shirt drawer (which is a never ending process), I decided it was time to challenge myself and make this stinking graphic tee a wardrobe staple! And I just think I may have succeeded…

New York City Ballet Annual Luncheon

Monday, February 11th, 2013

I think it goes without saying, but things are rocking and rolling at New York City Ballet (NYCB).  It is the beginning of a new year and winter season is full swing. I still cannot believe that I work for one the World’s most praised ballet companies! It is indeed a priceless experience. And speaking of “priceless”, this past Thursday was NYCB’s Annual Luncheon and guess who had chance to help out…ME : ) lol.

Just to give you a little background information, NYCB host approximately four benefit events per year. In addition to providing the guest with a unique opportunity to celebrate the Company’s accomplishments, it also serves as a medium in which aditional funds can be raised for the needs of the Company.  This year the Annual Luncheon “Barre to Big Screen” focused on a new program the Company established called “Dancers Wellness.” In understanding the high demands dancers place on their bodies daily, this program aims to provide funding so they have consistent access to the BEST doctors, therapists, and much more.

Overall the event was absolutely spectacular! Everything ran as smoothly as one could dream.  Oh yes, I must give you the highlight of the event…I had the chance to interact with not one, but two of my all time favorite celebrities…Sarah Jessica Parker and Drew Barrymore.  I think it goes without saying, but they are both BEAUTIFUL and amazingly kind in person.  Ok, ok…so here’s what they were wearing:

And to put the icing on the cake, Drew Barrymore complimented me on my sweater and even asked where it came from! I’m not going to lie…I was a little caught off guard which led to me stumbling over my words in attempt to answer! lol. It was nice to have one of my fav celebs affirm that I made a good wardrobe choice! Thank you Banana Republic for creating such an awesome line of sweaters..I think I will buy a few more!!!
