As many of you may know, I made the personal decision to no longer consume alcohol back in July of 2013. At some point, I will share the entire story behind this decision, but for now, I just want to share a great recipe to an easy, yet festive holiday mocktail. One of the most interesting things I have discovered in my decision to not drink is that there are soooooo few “fun” beverage options for the non-drinker. Literally, the options include pop, water, tea, water and some sort of lemonade. #boring. Being the city girl that I am, I want to have a fanciful drink with pretty garnish in hand, minus the alcohol. So, I’ve taken it upon myself to explore, create and find ways to have a more non-traditional beverage. One of my most recent mocktail finds included this Cranberry Ginger Holiday Moctail, which takes all of 4 ingredients and 3 minutes to make. Oh, and it’s super tasty!

Get The Ingredients:

  • 32 ounces cranberry juice (or 64 oz. if you plan to double)
  • 36 ounces ginger ale
  • fresh rosemary, to garnish
  • fresh cranberries, to garnish

In a pitcher/shaker, combine equal parts cranberry juice and ginger ale and a handful of cranberries. Mix well, and then serve over ice with additional cranberries and fresh rosemary as a garnish.

Rather than using a store bought ginger ale, I decided to use a speciality brand, as it has been said that real ginger ale has a much richer and crisper taste! And I must say, I agree. I particularly like Q-Drinks Ginger Ale, which can be found via Amazon,  Whole Foods and some TJ Maxx locations if you are lucky! To make this beverage even fancier, you could top it off with a little FRE Brut non-alcholic champagne and a slice of lime.

Do you have a favorite holiday mocktail recipe? If so, drop a comment below : ) One more sleep until CHRISTMAS EVE!

P.S. I have a Pinterest board full of beverage inspo! Check it out HERE.

P.S.S. Meet Silas! He’s bascially the best snuggler in the entire world and refuses to “actually” smile in a photo. Other than eating, sleeping and playing the drums, he has a thing for adventure! I really just want him to stay this age for forever, so I can continue to claim him as my own.
